I want to add another picture to my blog. I have four sisters and one brother; Mary Anne, Agnes, Joe, Patty,(me) Emily and Theresa. We are good friends although there is some friction between some of the siblings. I am too old to worry about it and don't really think about it unless I'm with them and they complain about each other. This picture if of us together at the last family reunion in Have'e de Grasse at Jimmy and Anne's reunion. They had a picnic outside their house and served buckets of crab that we had to pick apart and eat.
There is a dusting of snow outside my window. The roads are very icy and school has been delayed so I am home for the morning at least. Yesterday I stayed home all day. I finished my show for Patricia and watched TV and looked at old social security records that Rick wanted to see. Right now I have a load of wash in the machine and I hear the buzz of the machine in the background.

Our weekend was spent at the Virginia State Bar meeting in Williams burg Va. We stayed in the lodge. I took advantage of being there and went to the museum and also swam in the pool. We shopped at the outlet's. I bought yoga clothes for me and Bradly at LUCY which was having a gigantic sale. I figured that I should buy the clothes since it was such a good sale. Bradley can use the clothes when she teaches. I think I bout about ten pieces for seventy dollars.

Today we drive to Williamsburg for a state bar meeting. I am taking my knitting to do in the car. I am just about finished a Shaw which I want to give to Patricia at her shower. It is cold outside. Rebbecca is coming to clean and I plan to go to the University and draw with my drawing class this morning. Right now I have to clean up the kitchen and dress before Rebbecca comes. Last night I helped with the homeless men. There were several people there from Christ Church both men and women. I talked to several of the men. I will write later about what I learned.

I take food over to Wesley Memorial church this evening and help serve the homeless men food. I have to be there at 5pm. I bought the five cans of beans on Sunday after church when Rick and I went shopping. I don't know whether to make them here or just take the cans over there and make them there. I muct remember to take playing cards with me. I am doing laundry right now as I type. I am waiting for the Sears man to come and fix the trash compactor. I dod not want to miss him. I ate spinach and salad for lunch. Two squirrels are chasing each other down the tree as I look out the window. It is cold in the house so I turned on the stove in the great room.

Today is Inauguration Day. Barrack Obama will take the oath of office at noon. Rick and I will be watching it at the County Office Building with a group from JABBA. Walker said he was going to watch it with Hallie at her house. there is lots of excitement in the air. Thousands of people are streaming into D.C. walking since all the roads are closed. the trams are open so some came by bus. We thought of going to Washington at one point but it was too expensive. I took a picture of Barrack when we went to a rally in 2007 but I don't know if I can find it. Maybe later.
Last night we were invited to dinner at the Van Hooks our neighbors. WE had Salmon which Inge prepared. Delicious. I forgot a gift so I want to buy something after watching the Inauguration. It was Inge, Mack, Chile and us. a very lovely evening.

Today Walker was suppose to be on NPR but for some reason the connection did not go thought. I just spent half an hour trying to find the podcast but did not have any luck. I went to yoga. I did okay. Ray, the teacher is very helpful . I always feel better after I do it even though I cannot get into all the poses. I talked to Bevin Cetta after the class about California. I told her we went to Bodega Bay for Christmas. I ordered more invitations to our engagement party. I am going to pick them up on the way to the movie. I want to add a picture to my Blog today but am not sure what to add. I don't have any of yoga. The weather today is freezing. I wear gloves and hat whenever I go out. I have so many hobbies going on in my life. I knit, I have two projects incomplete, I draw, I need to draw something in my sketchbook, I am going to help with Pacem, which feeds the homeless and I am trying to finish getting together all the pictures for the video for the engagement party.

Today I added a picture to my blog. It takes time to search through the pictures but it helps me remember some of the things I do, especially the trips we have taken because we have taken so many. This morning I went to the University to my drawing class. Akemi, the professor had a real crowd. About ten kids to many. She talked to the students about what to bring and what was expected of them. I have taken the class before but want to get better. After we talked she gave us two sheets of paper and we had to draw something we saw in the classroom. The first drawing I did was a girl sitting on a stool with her back to me. The second was a Chinese girl in a sideways posture. After class I went to Barracks Road to Bank of America to find out about the joint bank account I opened with Bradley. It is all set up. Now I need to tell her she can go to the bank and get checks. I have to think about the USAA account now. I also bought some charcoal at Michaels, made some copies of pictures to put in albums and bought some groceries. I want to learn more about blogging then work on the album for Rick.

I am very confused about how to create this blog but I am going to just play with the whole thing until I have it worked out. I want to add a picture. the picture I have decided is me standing on Second Street with the Pennsylvania State capitol in the background. Rick took this picture when we went to Anne Marie's wedding in Harrisburg. I grew up close to the Capitol and so it has many memories for me. I will write about growing up in more details later. Now I need to get ready for my day.
Today I go to a knitting circle with the ladies at Christ church. I have two projects going and am stuck on both: a shawl and a sweater for David Quinn my eighteen month old grand son. I will take both. At the shaw ministry knitting meeting we knt and then pray over what we have knitted. I have not been tere since before Thanksgiving. I also have to go to the Dentist, Dr. Kresse to have my teeth cleaned. I am working on a party for the boys engagment and try to do one or two things each day for that project. I have to buy the valentine napkins today. I decided to buy valentine napkins for the drinks and fusia napkins for the food. I am going to look at pictures and try to add pictures to this blogg.

Today I went to a friend's ( Sally Askew) house for a neighborhood meeting which was about being organized. Lots of women were there, about twenty. I knew most but there are always some new faces. The presenter was an engineer, a graduate of UVA turned organizer. She started by asking us to count the items in our pocketbook. I had twelve. I think one women had thirty three. Some did not even bring a pocket book. Her tip was to put things together in groups and then put them in smaller containers. When I came home I put pens and comb and fingernail file into a glass case. I also cleaned out one drawer in the living room and my knitting basket and organized some pictures which is an ongoing process. I was very inspired and am going to try and remember some of the tips she gave us. One being constantly conscious of your goals about being organized. We talked a lot about material possessions, clothes kitchen utensils.

When I came home I checked the Amazon site. I ordered two copies of the same CD and I wanted to return one. I am going to have to wait until it arrives.

My next plan is to add some pictures but first I have to look at my pictures and see what I have.

I am wondering if I can return to the old post and edit it or revise it. Each time I write something it will be a learning experience. It is early morning and I have not yet eaten breakfast. I did feed our cat, Aiko. Rick is home from his run. It is dark as I look out the window in front of the computer.

I am woried that I will not even be able to get back into the site to write more.

Learning How to Blog

Today I will begin to chronicle my life on the web. I am excited to do this just to learn about my self and the world. I have tried to keep diaries at home but this might be more consistent. The most important is being able to spell check what I do. I am even going to try and enter pictures if I can.
