Paintings at the Center

I took my painting to the senior center. There were lots of volunteers there. I took one I named, pretty in Pink and the other Searching. The women who were cleaning the house left. One young girl vacuumed this room. Another girl cleaned the bathroom. I hope they put the trash on the trash can. Today is my birthday week. I will be 81 on Thursday. While I was at the senior Center I ate a ham and cheese on a croissant.

I cannot spell this word. For breakfast I ate a McDonalds apple tart and watermelon. I also ate all my watermelon. I want to go upstairs and put the food in the refrigerator.

We talked about how old J’darth is when I checked in my paintings. I am going to look up his bio and age.

Matilda

I finally have a day I can stay home. Tonight we go to the Ivy Inn for dinner with all the lawyers in Rick’s firm and their wives and Debbie and Pat,  faithful employees for many years. Rick will retire when we com home from Squam. He is making lots of adjustments and I am too. I have been cleaning out the file cabinets in the hall closet for several weeks,

I am finding lots of old diaries and pictures. Yesterday I went to an art Guild meeting also went to Costco and Bed Bath and Beyond which is declaring Bankruptcy so I wanted to see what the sales were.

I entitled this blog Matilda because that was a big event. Saturday night Rick and I took David Quinn to the annual Play at Western Albemarle High School. It was packed with people and an excellent performance.

We also spent the weekend at Shenandoah National park where we celebrated Earth Day with the Trust and many other people who are interested in the park.

We went to church Sunday. Sam was the preacher. I went to Sunday School which Dave Zahl taught. I like his sermons and Sunday school so wanted to go. His younger brother was also there and they shared the teaching. They have a blog which I should listen to but I have many things in my own life I am working on like writing Storyworth. I am also doing a writing class with Nadia Colburn.  I am trying to finish Scrapbooks and  am also on knitting.

Today we go to Chauncy’s funeral.

Yesterday was shopping and bank day. I cashed the check for the pictures I took to Circa.

I tried to sell some of my clothes for money but they would not take them. They said they were too fancy, too old looking. I went to Home Good and also to ll Bean and to the computer store.

Today I am going to stay home and organize. I am writing off old place mats. I have to think about how to use them.

This is one of the place mats. I still need to clean the ones I took out of the file cabinet that was in the up stairs closet.

I bought a new vacuum

The salesman has my number. I bought the big canister Electrolux about a year ago.

Today I bought a small standup one that is easy to use. I can charge it and he gave me three extra bags.

My leg feels better. I fell up the steps yesterday when I was carrying the broom to clean under my bed.I fell on my knew. I could not walk so I just went to be and rested.

I made myself crawl under and pull out the stray books. I filled up a plastic bed box with books. I am finding lots of interesting pamphlets and books to read. When I got my Master’s at UVA I took a cource in Speaking Clearly. I am going to practice more which is another way to slow down.

This reminds me I must clean our guest rooms for my grandchildren who come this Friday at five o’clock.

I also must buy food which I keep thinking about. I hear the squirrels on the roof.

I am beginning Allign your Story again. Just now I wrote an Elegy to Homer, my father.  I keep getting Facebook posts about knitting, crocheting and watercolor. My meeting at the Center was successful. I want to see if anyone put up pictures at our WEB page.

I am at the Center

I just finished a ham and cheese Croissant. Very tasty but a bit greasy. I am drinking Cold Brew with Hazel Nut. I think there will be music soon. An older man is getting his instruments ready.

I came to see the flower arrangements. Our Guild has a display of pictures and the Cvill Garden Club designed bouquets to put in front of them. I am surprised at how lovely they are are.

The musicians arrived. They are very close to my table. The older man is now practicing his saxophone, someone is at the grand piano. I am going to stay here and listen. I still have cold brew to drink.

I am at Greyrock

Eliza is in the kitchen. I do not want to say anything because she might scoot upstairs and not eat.  She is fixing herself lunch.

I drove DQ to his friend’s house who lives on Plank Road about ten miles away. We drove on Greenwood Road.  Crossed 250 to Ortman Road to Plank Road. The views were all mountains. Some big farms but also, ordinary houses but with long driveways.  I saw one log cabin.

this house, my daughter’s house in Grey Rock is painted nicely: this room is grey, the dinning area is yellow. B. Bought a huge sofa and rug for both rooms. I was afraid she sold my painted table but it is on the Porch. She has worked hard on her garden. I brought some seeds from when we wert to California. I also brought mums from when we were at the apple cidery, which  is own by Charlotte Shelton. They were on the counter and free.

I think it is best for Eliza to do her own thing. She has grown very tall. There is a large picture in this room above the sofa. Bradley and DQ and Eliza are standing by the Arch in Utah. It is winter they all have winter coats and hats on. I brought knitting and scrap books and one book for Eliza to read. I wish I could take a picture of Eliza because she looks very. Different than she did as a toddler and little girl.

This will be my Nadia writing. She stresses staying in your body. If you get off tract come back to your. Body.I am getting ready to go. There is lots of food here. I took two sweet potatoes and a pumpkin roll with me. I went up stairs to show Eliza videos of Gus but she was not very receptive.Walker called when I was here.I took a short nap. I tried to leave everything as I found it. I ate watermelon and bacon from David’s sandwich.

I am home from the Dentist.

I went to the dentist this morning and had two implants put in my mouth. I took my medicine. I was given a prescription  for two different pills. Amoxicillin which I have 21 acetaminophen 16. I was given a bridge that comes out but the nurse also gave me fix o dent.

Rick brought me home.

I can only drink liquids although I did eat some cheese. Rick brought me a Starbucks.

Right now I am sitting in front of the TV. I watched EMMA. This is the book and movie that Eliza read and watched. I am not going to write about it now.

Tomorrow I turn 81

I am at our kitchen counter. I ate a bowel of grits and a bowel of Raisin Bran for breakfast. I took all the raisins out of the cereal because they are too hard when you eat them.

I came down stairs after reading  Mom’d Daily devotional. You read a passage then translate it into your own words. I had trouble this morning because of the light.

I came down ad poured coffee and went back to Rick’s study and talked to him. We are going to have Walker and his kids over tomorrow afternoon for a party.

We are going to eat at the new hotel that the Darden school built.

Today I am going to Crozet and hopefully meet Eliza. We are going to Chiles and pick strawberries. I am very tired 😴 and want to lie down but I must wait for Rick to leave. This is what I look like at 81.
