Chesapeake City

 We are in the The inn at Cannel City.  We have aa suite. Right now I am sitting on the dark Blue sofa in the Living room. Everything in the town is very old. Last night when we walked around we read the historical Plack on one house that was built in 1850.  Today I will check my accuracy. We are under, well almost under a bribe that crosses a cannel.  We did not drive under overly the bridge becaus e the city is on this side.

Our Inn is very old and authentic. There are several samplers hanging on the walls mostly in the hall as we go downstairs. I want to look at them. I made a Sampler years ago. I think Hallie has mine.

We slept on an iron poster bed but I Hadley slept, mostly because I was cold.  I pit. Both extra blankets on me, one was a real     . I am not sure of the pattern but it is. Simple. I want to document everything if I can before we leave. I will take some pictures.

Before dinner we satin this room and I read the trial of the Century while Rick read the newspaper.  We found a newspaper as we wondered around the area. We went to the Canal museum and watched alon movie about building the Chanel and also building a bridge across a river. We never learned the name of the. Bridge or the river. 

Still at Osprey

 The news is about the crash of a container ship into Key Bridge in Baltimore. When we turned on the TV there was lots of coverage with news and pictures. 

We have two rooms. I am in the living room. Rick is looking at brochuresn our bedroom.. All the decor is Williamsburg beginning with a poster bed.  I’m could not sleep because I was so cold. I put the extra blanket on and my pagammas but still never fell asleep. I want to write Eliza but do not want to write too early because I do not want B to read. She is in a play today and she will speak some of the parts.

On our trip yesterday we heard non stop Michael Smerconish and talk about Trump and politics. 

We watch a lot of politics at home. When I did get out of bed I came into this room. I shut the door and read the book I brought. The trial of the century. The story of the Skopes trial and weather Evolution could be taught in public schools. It took place in Dayton Tennessee—-outside. I guess in front of the Courthouse. It was highly publicized because it was the number one topic in the news at that time. The lawyers were both famous old men, Clarence Darrow represents Skopes who was teaching science and included Evolution in his curriculum. Opposing him was William Jennings Bryan who was a former presidential candidate but also a biblical schoolroom in the Presbyterian community. I have not yet reached the chapters that discuss the trial only background information about the famous lawyers. 

I am suppose to write 1000 words each day. I do not know how many Imwrote.

Senior lunch at Christ Church

 I sat with my friend Bill and Anne, the former Liberian who prepares snacks for the kids after the nine o’clock service. Our speacker was the woman who is in charge of Sunday school. She helps write a series of books about the Bible. I brought two home to show Hallie. I just switched to a larger print. On Wednesday I went to the eye doctor. I decided I need prescription glasses. I am also thinking about doing the surgery he told me about, having my eye lids lifted. 

Rick is not home from exercising. I woke up early. I came down to try and take one of the albums apart but have not done it yet. 

The news is relating a pig kidney to a human. There is a 3 to 5 year waiting list for a kidney. 

I have CBS news on right now. Usually I watch NBC with Savannah and Hoda.  It is seven thirty and Rick is not home. I bought him cantaloupe for breakfast which I put in his bowel and then Cut into pieces. 

Yesterday I drove to North Branch and picked up Eliza from school. Her mother was at UVA with David doing a tour of the school. Eliza told me all about what she is studying at school. She was most excited about whether the Universe was Ecocentric or solar centric. Bradley has poison Ivy. She said she was putting Calamine Lotion on it.

We are at Osprey Point

 At a Bed and Breakfast right on the Chesapeake Bay. When we look out the window we see lots an elaborate sail boats. We drove from our last B and B in the  pouting rain. We stopped at Chestertown for lunch. Chestertown is very old and quaint. I do not like to use that word but I cannot think of another way to describe it. Many row houses with porches and shops. There was a college there Washington college. We drove through a large campus. I never heard of it before. We are going to explore the eastern shore of Maryland before we meet Walker for Easter Sunday. I brought a suitcase full of clothes. There is a restaurant right below us.

Before we left Cville I spent two days going to the Festival of the book—-Friday with Louise my neighbor then with Rick. The first woman named Annenberg wrote a book. A thousand words a day. Maybe it was a hundred , I forget. Saturday Rick and I went and heard three black people talk about their books and about being black in America. 

Sunday I. Went to church and signed up to continue Joe reading at church. 

Our room here is decorated in a colonial Williamsburg style with a poster bed and wing back chairs and valance curtains and simple desk. At the last abode we could not connect to the internet. I am going to inclusde a picture of Joh Smith because our room was named after him. 

Today we celebrate two birthday.

 Right. Ow I am at the BHSC. I am going to exercise, soon. This morning my goal was to buy David a wallet for his birthday which we will take to him at 6pm when we pick him up from robotics at Western. 

I am looking at Phil Rodger’s practice tennis with his grandson. He was my first tennis teacher at BHSC. It was after Tucker waas born. Mostly

they are hitting back and forth. I am in my favorite chair where I wait for Rick. 

I also went to Aldi and Costco besides Belk where I bought the wallet and I went to Food Line where a

I bought more kitchen supplies. I added six pages to my album and knitted and took a short nap. 💤 

Last night we took an album and kitchen gifts to Joseph who is 14 today. David Quinn n is seventeen. Next year he will be an adult. 

The sports announcers always wear coats and ties. The other announcers have become more relaxed. 

I have diarrhea Just relaxing and learning

 I woke up with diarrhea and felt bad since I did not sleep much. I took three epson salt baths and tried to meditate but still could not sleep. Rich gave me two pill which I took. I came down stairs and ate one slice of bacon-and  two pieces of butter bread. I opened up my scalperhero and used it and watched some videos about it. I am going to use it before I go to bed tonight. I got one phone call but could not get to the phone in time. I sat in the jacuzzi. It was extremely relaxing. I did it to wake me up.

I dried by lying in the guest room bed.  I have gifts lying on the bed. I just changed to time to 10 minutes. I am waiting for Rick to come home before I eat anything now.

I want to finish Walker’s  but cannot do this before I dismantle Rick’s album so I can use some of the pages. 

Last night we went to the movie at Stonefield. We saw King Arthur about an adventure team and a stray dog. I have written for 6 minutes. I am going to do this when I write for my Nadia pages. Align your story. I am going to reread this and look for mistakes. The leading character was Michael who lived in Colorado and ran in the mountain. He was the ultimate egoist. The movies was really about him and him trying to put a team of four ultimate athletes together. I am going to hear a bell soon.yesterday we went to Ivy School to watch a preformance by the secon Graders. It was all about kids learning to sing song about taking care of the environment. They all wore costumes. Bess was a fox. She had ears and a tale. I am not sure where she got the tail. I am surprised Rick is not home yet. I have not yet put on my regular clothes. I still am wearing my red night gown. 

Rick is going to the Doctor

 He called himself after he got home from exercising at the BHSC. Right now he is resting . I am to wake him up at 10 o’clock. Before that I am going to write in Nadia. Last night we had dinner at Sal’ then went to the Paramount theater to see Danue, an Irish band.  We sat in the balcony right by the rail. I saw the Falconers down belo. I remember they go to every preformance. Monday is DQ and Joseph’s birthday. 

Wenatched a preformance by Danu. They are all muscians. guitar, flute, fiddle, drums, acordian singer mandolin. I think I named everyone. The tickets were for my Valentine gift.

Last week Bradley and I went to Banf to watch serious movies about the mountains. I do. To think I have any pictures..

Sunday After Church March 10, 2024

 I just did Calm? I am sitting on our family room sofa. Imdid a lot of talking at church. Beginning before church in the kitchen. We talked about knitting. I talked to Judd Palmer about reading. I responded at Sunday School when Amanda asked about our first Experience with the Bible. I told the class about Homer’s Bible filled with pictures and holy cards. I talked to Page Perriello and Dave Zahl after church.

I talked to Linda Perrielo right before church about Joseph and how he will turn 14 tomorrow. I feel full right now. Rich is upstairs sleeping. He has been sick for two weeks. He did not caugh much today. The last two weeks have been non stop coughing. 

Question?.. Is I better to talk to people?  It depends. Each situation is different.

I am working on two things. Scrapbook albums and knitting. I also am always working on writing and improving my writing. I am looking at a picture of a bluebird I painted. I always want to paint something. 

I have a watercolor book I am working on.

Trouble signing in to Nadia

 I am completely dressed. Tonight we attend a program at the Paramount with Irish musicians and singers.

Rick bought me the tickets for my birthday. We have both been sick with a cold. He is upstairs right now at his computer. Before that he was in bed because he was coughing all night. The theme on Nadia today was about “ Enough.”

Nadia read about tha theme and as always we wrote.

I am going to watch TV and Knit. I am thinking of asking at Eliza’s school if I can knit with her class. That is my current goal. I am signed up to do a Zoom class wit the Extension service. 

What I read so far is to do kore visualization. How do I visualize be Inga’s more organized.

Well my rooms have to be neater. 

Yesterday, we saw Walker at BHSC and he told us about taking his class to the Court House. He showed us a picture.

Right. Ow I am going to order Sports Illistrated.

Joseph had a concussion while playing soccer

 I am at BHSC. Walker is now on the machine. I was right beside him. He told me they had to take Joseph to the hospital because he had a concussion. 

I am to puck up Tucker and take him to orthodontist tomorrow. I am waiting for Rick in the hall.
