Watching Soccer World Cup

 This morning I left our house at 8:20. I was at Finley’s by 8:25. I sat n the office space and waited for my car. I drank two cups of coffee and ate one cup cake and read the newspaper. They finished about ten so I h went to Best Buy and had them look at IPad. The phone does not work right. Fronde just scored its second goal. Their uniforms are dark blue. They are playing Morocco. After Best Buy I went to twice is Nice and bought a lot of books. I am going to give some away.

I am trying a larger font. This is interesting. I am going to try handwriting. Now back to printing. The game is almost over so France will win. They were the favorite.The goalie has the toughest job.

We are at Forest lodge

 Blue Ridge park Way was spectacular. We had lunch at Rockbeidge Winery. It took five hours to get her. We are in a new cabin that is homey  but yuppy. Lots of small pictures from artists paint out. I am looking for one from Chee. I am trying to finish it. Rick is walking better without crutches.@

We ate with a Jewish couple last night  who owned a Band B in Connecticut.

I feel relaxed. Read Crozet news. 

Buckingham Scenic Railroad

 We left the house at 2pm. Bradley came from the hospital. Rick left work early. We talked about everything in the car but mostly what was happening around us and politics. She is  going to become a  Republican. 

We found the station but had a cup of coffee first. We parked right in front which was a blessing since Rick is still limping. We walked up to the platform and waited with about fourty other people, mostly seniors. There is a large red building that easily could have been a hotel at one time.

The train was a bit late.  We showed do the tickets to the nice young girl and we boarde. The train is the ending and a long Halloween decorated dining car with about twenty tables streamed the length of the car. Once we were all seated, the hostess announced we were ready to leave. 

We were served a beverage in a glas with the train logo carved in it. B ordered the different meals, mine was macaroni and chicken pieces. All the meals were tasty and filling. The ride was past gorgeous fall scenery. The whole trip was sucessful. 

With a long whistle we left Staunton. The first part of the trip the train stayed close to the highway.250. We passed the same building we see on the roads. Next we moved into the hinterland, the woods and farms of rural Va.

Spent two hours waiting for AAA

 My tire had a big gash in it. I can think of two times when I was driving when it could have happened. One time I just drove into a ditch that was in the side of the road. I cannot remember the place. I knew when it happened it was bad for the car. When I was leaving McDonalds after I ordered two sausage biscuits I drove into the curb. I ate one biscuit the. Started to drive. I knew there was something wrong. A bus driver blew his horn and then yelled. I pulled off the road. I called Rick. He left. His office and then the two of us just sat on the back of the car and waited. He called AAA. There was a big mix up with dis pacers. We did not think anyone would come. Rick called AAron Manis. Finally his wife and so. Came. 

After twenty minutes a middle age lady came. She told us we had to move the car. She took over and jacked the car up and then put the spare tire on the front right wheel. She took a picture of our license plate. Exhausted in mind and body I drove home.

For the past week I have had my suitcase out thinking and planing for my pilgrimage, Following in the Footsteps of Paul

Today I went to the bank and picked up my money from Turkey and Greece. I also got extra American money, twenties and tens and fives. I looked at rings. I parked in Rick’s office parking lot. I drove to the church rectory and got out money to par for the bus to DWI. When I was parked in front of the rectory my car stalled. It would not start. I called Rick. 

I do not want to write anymore. 

I have my Visa I went to Bess birthday

 I just read a website about the importance of blogging so I decided to write something. I went to church on Sunday and then stayed for Sam Bush’s Sunday school class about PHILLIPIANS and the stayed for lunch and meeting of pilgrimage group. 

Phil Williams gave along winded talk about Turkey which was at one time called Anatolia. I did not want to miss Bess’s birthday party so I left at 2pm. The party was terrific. When I got there, three other little girls were there and eventually all six arrived. They played in a tent that Hallie made with blankets. Then they did the circle game and the they did a scavenger hunt which the boys supervised. They all had a great time and I had fun watching. They had gifts which was the scavenger hunt find. Hallie mad cup cakes. They played jump rope for awhile and then Rick picked me up and we went to Septenary.

Bess is 7today

 Right now I am sitting on the sofa. I hear the rain behind me. I just ate leftover potato skin and steak. Before that I ate pieces of the skin  of a potato.

We went to 9am service at Christ church. Before that we went to the Villa for breakfast. I ordered sausage gravy and Rick ordered the big breakfast. He ate four pieces of bacon. We shared everything but the bacon. 

The  sermon was about a man who fell down the steps and felt shame. The theme was shame. I did not like any of the stories but yesterday I read about writing with defiance. And feeling shame. We all feel shame and fear. I will include a picture of Bess. I have been looking for my wedding album. I cannot find it. The last time I looked at it I was with Steve Yancy right here n this room. I did find some picture of the O’Neal’s who we knew in Germany.

I played tennis for one half hour with Cathy B.

The past three days we have watched television about a hurricane in Florida. Many homes and boats have been lost. 17 people lost their lives. I have not watched church today because it is too depressing. The storm has now moved north to South Carolina. It is raining here but only drizzling. I played tennis for 1/2 hour with my daughter then we went for a swim. Rick was exercising on the bike so I said hello. He said he ordered spaghetti from Vavacci. 

This morning I worked on my Storyworth book. I am having trouble with writing about going to Florence. I have been writing about the Medici. I want to make my book authentic but forget something’s. I am reading about So it Sotomayor. She is a Supreme Court Justice. She grew up in the Bronx. Her parents were from Purtorico. She went to Catholic schools then to Princeton. This is  why she thinks she was so successful. Princeton seems more prestigious than Harvard.

The writing I did in college was in Blue Books, also papers for different classes. I am writing that is why I went to Europe to see what I wrote about. I wanted to teach history but so do lots of other people. I eventually teach elementary school 

Grandkids came yesterday

 I am trying to change the size of my print. I think it has worked. I just changed my passcode for the Blogger site. I need to record it. 

But I am still confused about everything. I spent the whole day with grandkids. We did sand art., homework. Played Chinese checkers with Rick. We looked for blueberries and picked up sticks to clean the yard. I gave Tucker and Bess a dollar for their help. I am watching the news.
