We are staying at the Charles Lewis Cabin, a lovely single room with high ceilings, a fireplace, a small sofa and relaxing looking leather chairs. Lots of pillows on the bed and sofa. I have been knitting a hat since we left Cville. Rick is outside on the poach reading. I continue up to read Undaunted Courage. I am trying to understand the voyage West.. the chapter I just finished was about the Sioux Indians. It is confrontational. But shots are not fired. I do not know the difference between a keel boat and a perriouge. The perriouge seems more like a canoe but it has a flat bottom. Both boats use sails sometimes. We have eaten two meals so far. Rick thinks Carol is cooking more vegetables than in her previous meals. There was no meat at breakfast. Last night we had a small chicken theigh.
We went to see the newest purchase of the Crowl family. Beaver Falls house. We ate lunch on the
Poach. . The cleaning lady let us look at the house. It is on the Calf pasture river. Rick has spent a long time swatting flies which seem to have infested the cabin and poach.
