We had a talk this morning about the Oregon Trail. The economy was in bad shape in the East. The Conestoga Wagon was like a modern day camper. Either mules, oxen or horses drove it. But, we learned most of the time the women walked beside the wagon to listen the load. They used buffalo dung for fuel because because it burned slow and it did not smell bad.
I am sitting in our room. The weather is perfect. Beside us are high desert mountains. We can see cars on a highway. We also see long trains. Sometimes we see windmills. We have seen small fishing boats too. It is all very peaceful. Rick has been organizing our next cruise. I wrote two postcards. I try to read Undaunted Courage whenever I can fit it in.
